Hey y’all! I often contemplate the systems we live in and how individuals can best be supported in navigating racism, homophobia, transphobia, capitalism, ableism, and other -isms in our lives. My aim during therapeutic sessions is to provide a space that is trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and intersectional, where you can feel celebrated and supported. I would love to accompany you in creating that intentional space!
I am a person who identifies as queer, Chinese, neurodivergent, a lifelong learner, and an activist. My professional background spans 10 years in housing stability and emergency housing services as a case manager/social worker within the DC-North Virginia area. My therapeutic experiences include facilitating Disordered Eating group therapy, LGBTQIA+ Peer Support, mindfulness group activities, integrated brief behavioral health sessions, and substance use disorder group therapy.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and rooted in Critical Race Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and creative expression. My experience is mostly in working with folks who are Black, Indigenous, People of Color, or LGBTQIA+ identifying. However, all are welcomed who are navigating issues of sex and relationships, life transitions, gender expansions, trauma, substance use, fat stigma, depression, and anxiety.
Currently, I am under the supervision of Tamara Pincus as I complete my residency and work towards my licensure.
On my free time, I love being with my friends and chosen family. I love nature, music, and my pets. Here are some lyrics from one of my favs, Frank Ocean:
“Taxi driver, Be my shrink for the hour, Leave the meter runnin’ – It’s rush hour, So take the streets if you wanna, Just outrun the demons, could you?” – Bad Religion
I look forward to being in community with you!
